I am really quite torn between the Oasis 3 and the Libra H20. Wow, how did you get to try all these e-readers? I was heavily leaning towards Oasis 3, but I couldn't find a store near me that had one to try. Thank you for the in-depth analysis! (sorry I haven't been able to check reddit in so long) Personally had to return them all as I found that I'm really just waiting for a 10 inch e-reader that feels as incredible as the Oasis 3. Overall though I think they're all incredible devices. The Inkpad 3 quite literally just boots straight up after picking a language and has some books included. This one is entirely subjective, but I'd say the Kobos offer the most bang for your buck with insane amount of features, polish and quality while being slightly cheaper than Kindles over here.Īll of them work fairly quick, but both the Kobos and Kindles require set up and logging into your However I think all but the Kindles allow adding dictionaries if you need more and better ones. I'd assume it'd go Kindles > Kobos > Pocketbook. Otherwise, the Kobos also have incredible page selecting UI, letting you press on a slider to preview pages and even saving your previous points for a quick return.Īll the devices have pretty okay dictionary access as holding a word leads to it, as for the most complete and best dictionary, I am not quite sure. The Inkpad 3 does some weird page skip that skips a lot of pages if you hold the button, haven't quite figured it out yet. Out of the above, only the Kobos have an ability to hold down the page buttons for a speedy flip mode that goes through stuff. Second up would be the Libra, followed by Forma, followed by Inkpad 3. In addition to the incredible weight distribution and aluminium chassis, the page buttons are so incredibly clicky and nice feeling. As for your wants:Īfter trying out the above extensively for a week, the Kindle Oasis 3 is the absolute winner here. Of course some models could be better/worse than others as all things are a lottery, but for the most part all of them are incredible devices. So far my conclusion is that, you literally cannot go wrong unless you have specific things you want. I understand that there isn't a lot of work involved to change ebook formats if necessary, which is why I didn't included it in my list (please correct me if I'm wrong). If one e-reader has better formatting than another, that may greatly impact my final decision. I'm also hoping that formatting within novels is similar to print versions, because that was my #2 concern with e-readers (my 1st concern was that e-readers would be too slow for me, but I really despise this new paperback format to the point where I'm finally willing to give e-readers a chance).
